Aribex Announces New NOMAD Pro Veterinary X-Ray System

OREM, UTAH–25 February 2009–Aribex, Inc., the worldwide leader in handheld x-ray technologies, today unveiled the NOMAD® Pro Veterinary, the most-advanced handheld x-ray system available. The NOMAD Pro Veterinary builds upon the heritage of the Aribex award-winning NOMAD family of handheld x-ray systems.

The NOMAD Pro is optimized for veterinary dental use and weighs only 5.5 pounds. It features a color LCD screen and easy-to-use icon-driven settings. The device has also been found effective for small animal, limbs and extremities, exotics, and equine use. NOMAD Pro is protected by two US patents.

“Now veterinarians have a handheld x-ray device they can truly call their own,” said Dr. D. Clark Turner, president and chief executive officer of Aribex, Inc. “The NOMAD Pro Veterinary allows doctors to more quickly and easily diagnose animals, in many cases without sedation.”

The NOMAD Pro can easily be used from table to table in the veterinary office or taken to outside field locations for treatment at the point-of-care. The device’s battery gives hundreds of diagnostic-quality radiographs in just one charge.

“The NOMAD Pro is better for the doctor as well as for the patient,” said Lane Jensen, Veterinary Segment Manager for Aribex. “Faster and better radiographs help the doctor to make better diagnoses. And NOMAD procedures are much more friendly to the patient, allowing the staff to get the radiographs without twisting and contorting injured patients into painful positions. The NOMAD helps the doctor be a better doctor.”

The NOMAD Pro incorporates modern internal shielding to block radiation leakage and a backscatter shield to protect the operator, resulting in radiation exposure to the operator more than one hundred times less than regulatory limits.

Aribex dealers began taking orders for the NOMAD Pro for U.S. customers at the Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas February 15-19. Aribex anticipates the first customer deliveries of the NOMAD Pro to take place mid-March.
