Aribex Awarded Patent for Portable Digital X-ray Camera
OREM, UTAH—October 17, 2007 - Aribex, Inc. announced today that
U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued patent no. 7,224,769
for the Digital X-ray Camera, filed on May 29, 2007.
Aribex’s intellectual property portfolio not only includes this
patent, but other pending patent applications, copyrights, trade
and industry secrets and other rights in its proprietary X-ray
technologies.
“This is a landmark day for Aribex and the X-ray industry. This
newly issued patent represents a significant advance over the
current state-of-the-art technology in digital radiography. The
inclusion of digital imaging in the same package as the X-ray
source, a digital X-ray camera, is a significant improvement
in radiography practice. This new technology promises to revolutionize
X-ray radiology in the same manner that digital cameras transformed
personal photography,” said D. Clark Turner, Ph.D., president
and CEO of Aribex.
Aribex’s flagship product, NOMAD, is a handheld X-ray system
that is cordless, battery-powered and simple-to-use. The initial
applications of NOMAD have been in intraoral dental X-ray. It
is also used in the forensic and veterinary fields.
Aribex, Inc. has quickly become recognized as a worldwide leader
in innovative handheld X-ray products. The NOMAD X-ray system
was named one of the top 100 dental products of 2006 by Dentistry
Today magazine.
