Aribex NOMAD Approved in 33 States
Orem, Utah -- October 24, 2007 - Aribex, Inc. announced the NOMAD handheld X-ray device has been approved for use in 33 states.

Seeking approval to operate under a new “handheld class” of X-ray, the NOMAD is now available for use in Washington and Florida. Already cleared for sale in the United States by the FDA in July 2005, the NOMAD requires additional individual state approval. Florida has approved the NOMAD for use without restrictions for dental use. The State of Washington approved the NOMAD for use with special needs patients and in mobile settings.

Over 1,200 NOMAD units have been sold since Aribex opened its doors in 2005. Additionally, it is approved for use in the District of Columbia, Mexico, India, UK, Italy, Hong Kong, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, and Columbia.

NOMAD is a handheld intraoral X-ray system that allows the operator to stay with the patient during the X-ray. An external backscatter shield and unique internal radiation shielding ensure operator safety by reducing radiation exposure well below the regulatory limits.
