Aribex Unveils New Handheld Intraoral X-ray System
– NOMAD Pro
OREM, UTAH–19 February 2008–Aribex, Inc., the worldwide leader
in handheld X-ray technologies, today unveiled the NOMAD Pro,
the most-advanced intraoral X-ray system available. The NOMAD
Pro builds upon the heritage of Aribex’s award-winning NOMAD
X-ray system.
“The NOMAD has forever changed the way that dental radiography
is performed by allowing an operator to safely stay in the room
during a dental X-ray procedure,” said Dr. D. Clark Turner, president
and chief executive officer of Aribex, Inc. “The NOMAD Pro extends
the NOMAD’s battery-powered handheld platform by introducing
a full color LCD display screen, preset exposure settings, and
additional time saving features in a smaller and sleeker design.”
With the NOMAD Pro, the operator stays right next to the patient,
positions the NOMAD Pro and simply takes the radiograph. Not
only does this save time for the operator, the time the patient
has to hold still with film or a sensor in his/her mouth is shortened
and patient comfort is increased.
The NOMAD Pro is designed for heavy general purpose use and
is ideal for use with children, sedated patients, or special
needs patients. The number of retakes needed when using the NOMAD
Pro is dramatically reduced over conventional dental X-ray systems.
The NOMAD Pro can easily be used in the office and then taken
to the hospital, nursing home, or any location for treatment
at the point-of-care.
The NOMAD Pro’s battery gives hundreds of diagnostic-quality
radiographs in just one charge. And weighing in at five and a
half pounds, the NOMAD Pro can even be used by smaller operators.
The NOMAD Pro is safe to use. The NOMAD Pro incorporates modern
internal shielding to block radiation leakage and a backscatter
shield to protect the operator from X-rays scattered from the
patient. This results in radiation exposure to the operator being
more than one hundred times lower than regulatory limits.
Aribex and its NOMAD Pro dealers will begin taking orders for
the NOMAD Pro for customers inside the United States at the 143rd
Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting (February 21 - 24, 2008,
Aribex Booth #2747). Aribex anticipates the first customer deliveries
of the NOMAD Pro to occur in 60 to 90 days. Aribex will continue
to offer the state-of-the-art NOMAD through its established dealer
channel.
